Haunted House

Angeline is the only daughter of a rich tea merchant and a successful businesswoman. Angeline's parents aren't from an affluent family, but they made tons and tons of money due to their thriving businesses.

When Angeline's parents earned mounds and mounds of money, they decided to sell off their 2-storey stilt house and look for a richer and bigger house (you know humans :PP)

Then they looked until they found the outwardly perfect house in the perfect location. It is a very big 3-storey colonial style villa with extra large rooms with a large swimming pool, an indoor pool and a huge garden. Angeline's parents immediately signed a paperwork to buy the house. What they don't know is that it is haunted. And no one knows, other than the previous owner. He simply died in the basement of the house one day and the haunting was mum to the public. He doesn't have any sons or daughters.

Anyway, Angeline's parents liked the house so much they bought it. They also transformed one room into a music room for Angeline since she is into music. They also transformed another room into the studio since Angeline is a gifted painter. The basement and cellar is located under the house. The living room is on the ground floor, and the parents' bedrooms and kitchen, music room, servants' quarters and the washroom. The ballroom and indoor swimming pool (with a spa, Jacuzzi and sauna) is located on the top floor. Each of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is as luxurious as the room and the house.

Her room is at the end of a grand hall in the first floor facing the staircase. The playroom, studio (where Angeline paints beautiful pictures everyday) and guest rooms (there are 5 spare bedrooms) which is also located on the first floor is built at a way in the grand hall that all the doors are facing each other (ooh creepy). As most of you know, doors facing each other represents bad luck. To top all of that, the lighting was green which makes it very spooky. However, Angeline and her parents weren't superstitious. Angeline was happy with her room, it boasted a fine view of the swimming pool, and it is big and cold thanks to the well functioning air-conditioner. She plays the guitar, piano and organ in the music room or paints/draws beautiful pictures or makes pots from clay in the studio to while away the time. Angeline's family feel that bliss is set upon them.

However, strange things started happening in the house. A baby girl cries in the middle of the night, blood streaks the wallpaper at night only to have it gone in the wee hours of dawn, the maid in charge of Angeline claimed to see the rocking chair in Angeline's room rocking as if someone is sitting in it, the chandelier in the living room will switch on and off, and their cook claims to see a smoky apparition moving about the kitchen when she was making a pudding. The gardener claims to see a smoky figure tending the plants in the garden.

Things got out of hand when Gary, Angeline's father, saw a face of a devilishly handsome man smiling at him through the window. Annoyed, Gary threw his smoking pipe towards the man. A few days later, he was struck with a severe case of flu. He is in critical condition. Claire, Angeline's mother and Angeline suspects it was to do with Gary's disrespectful attitude towards the man in the window earlier. Poor Angeline prayed and prayed but to no avail. Her father remains very sick.

In the middle of the night, Angeline screamed and screamed. Poor Claire had to wake up and check on Angeline. Angeline mutters something about the thousand dollar angel statue in her bedroom near her luxurious four-port bed sneering at her.....and its mouth is full of blood! The last straw Claire could bear is when she saw two black figures looking at her at the top of her wardrobe.

Claire couldn't take it anymore. She always sleepwalks and fought with the air in the middle of the night, and Angeline, worried about her mother's mental health, and worried that her father would slip away any moment, consulted her friend, a powerful medium. Her friend, Elise de Charlotte, of German descent but understands English well. After sprinkling holy water (or jampi-jampi, as the Malays know it) on the floor, Angeline heard screams and a jasmine aroma. The jasmine aroma is suddenly overpowered by a vile odor, and the screaming got louder until an evil laugh hatched out.

"Heard that? All of the spirits in this house are good expect for one, a very powerful demon. Tell me, have you seen a devilishly handsome man looking out of the window in the room beside the kitchen?" asked Elise. The room she was referring to was Gary's room.

"Yes, my father claimed to have seen it. He threw his smoking pipe to it and now he is sick." "Oh dear!" exclaimed Elise.

"What is wrong, Elise?" Angeline is probing her for answers. "This spirit is malevolent, unlike the others, who is benevolent. The devilishly handsome spirit, a Black demon, is one of the most malevolent entities and has two black figures as helpers, and they always reside in the bedroom beside the washroom. They always hang out on top of the wardrobe and will intently look at the person inside the room. After a few days, this person will began hallucinating, and she/he may be sold off to become another slave of the Black demon." "That is my mother's room, and she claims to see the two black figures once!" screamed Angeline. She was distraught and Elise calmed her down, saying," If you did not see me as soon as this, it is likely your mother has become a slave of the Black demon."

"I need the help of my shifu (master) with this. Come to my house later." said Elise. "Meanwhile, I will place a charm to temporarily stop the spirits."

However, the Black demon was simply too powerful for a little charm to get hold of him. When Angeline tried to drive her mother to Elise's place, there was a very heavy thunderstorm and the day later, their car broke down. In desperation, they begged Elise and her shifu to come to their house.

Elise and her shifu came to their house in the evening and they brought a cat'o nine tails with a few talismans and a white fluid. Elise told Angeline that since white represents purity, they should draw a circle with the white fluid, and they should stay inside and NEVER EVER go out of it until the exorcism was complete. She also stated that the Black demon will use wily means to force them out of the circle, so no matter what, they should remain in the circle and NEVER come out, or the Black demon's power will be unleashed. Also, do NOT kill animals that fly in the circle, because that is the Black demon and doing so will allow the Black demon to enter the circle. "We will never ask you to go out of the circle," said Elise. "We will rub off the circle with a talisman, only then it is safe to exit." After giving the warnings, Elise and her shifu entered Claire's room to destroy the Black demon's acolytes first, since that would cause Black demon to lose power.

When Elise and her shifu is performing the exorcism, Claire saw "Gary" knocking on the big door to their villa asking to be allowed in. "Gary" claimed that he has been discharged from hospital. Claire is tempted to step out of the circle for a moment and open the door, but Angeline, remembering Elise's words. She held on her mother and reminded her, and of course Claire protested. She couldn't bear to see "Gary", knocking on the door and supposedly hurt because he isn't allowed in.

Anyway after a struggle and some explanation, Claire closed her eyes and her ears to try to drown out "Gary's" knocking. After an eternity, "Gary" walked away, a tear under his eye. Claire cried but Angeline said that is Black demon's trick.

An hour later, Claire saw a deadly wasp flying inside the circle. Claire screamed and tried to run away, stepping out of the circle. Angeline held her tightly, saying that that was the Black demon's trick and that wasp is harmless. Claire screamed as the wasp approached her and almost stepped out of the circle. Angeline, remembering Elise's words, hugged her mom and embraced her, telling that she would protect her. Both of them closed their eyes, emptying their mind of the deadly wasp and its buzzing. After a while, it disappeared.

The last straw (and the biggest temptation), was when Elise and her shifu came down and said that it was safe to come out of the circle. Angeline and Claire almost fell for the trap when Angeline happened to remember what Elise said. She then looked up and glanced at Elise's face. Her eyes radiate evil. Her face has a tinge of black. Her shifu bore a sense of demonic power. His grey eyes had lost their reassurance and is bursting with pure evil.

Angeline knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that this was Black demon's trick. She held her mother and pulled her into the center of the protective circle. Claire was confused and Angeline told her what Elise said. They then stood there while "Elise" tried to coax them out. At last they said," If you don't come out, the Black demon will destroy you and your family forever." Still Claire and Angeline refused to step out of the circle.

Shortly after incident, Elise and her shifu came down after exorcising the Black demon from Gary's room and told them that the Black demon and his acolytes had been subdued and subsequently destroyed, to not cause any trouble, ever. Elise took a yellow talisman and rubbed the circle off, then told them it was safe to step out. Then Angeline was asked whether she wanted to keep the good spirits who protects the house and its residents, as well as all their prized possessions. Angeline agreed.

Elise also said that the previous owner's bones are found in the basement. They took it and gave it a proper burial.

Things worked out well. Soon Claire returned to normal and Gary was discharged from the hospital, in very good condition. The family are confident the good spirits will protect them and their house, as well as their business. And that is what happened! They lived happily ever after, and there are no more hauntings, although they know that angels are watching over them.
